Project #1 - Update #2
I'm happy with the way things have been going. What I've done over the course of the last few weeks is put together a variety of songs on my editing program and set each individual tempo. The songs with the closest tempoes I've left on the program and with those songs I have been experimenting with ways I can transition them. It's coming together nicely and I know I'm coming down to the home stretch. I hope it turns out great and I can't wait to show it to everybody. It'll be like a dance party!

Project #1 - Update
So I realize it has been a while since I've talked about the project so I'll just go ahead and say a few things. After receiving the green light, I played around with a few songs with various tempos and rhythms. Most of the transitions I did cut after the first few beats of the song into the next one, but they were not all as smooth as I thought they would be. I've settled on working this project out on my PC, a Sony program called Acid Music 3.o. It's pretty much like the garage band of PC media software, with a few extra special features. I've been paying close attention to the tempo meter in the program. When a song is put into a project file on the program, a feature called the Beatmaster pops up. It basically can change all of the other songs in that project file to the beat of the song you set it to or it can measure the beat of the song you added to the project file so you can compare it to the beats of other songs in the project file. After playing around with that for a few days, I'm now working into selecting songs from my computer and placing them into the program, removing the songs that have very very different beats then the other songs that are more similar to a specific beat, making it easier to cross over between songs and tracks. It's a long process, but this is what I've been chipping away on lately.

Project #1 - Waiting For The Okay
I'm still waiting to hear back about our proposals. I'm guessing we will go over them during Wednesday discussions. I have some great ideas in mind about the radio broadcast and I'm ready to get started on it whenever I get the okay.
As a side note, I do hope the Pack can recover from tonight's gut-wrenching loss to the Bears. Hopefully it's not a sign of things to come.

Project 1 Proposal
After thinking about this project all weekend, I've decided to stick with the radio aspect of my idea and do a radio broadcast about the history of radio. Considering that radio and broadcasting is going to be my minor in college, and since I'm surrounded by film students, I figured why not go that route. I'm anxious to get started and I'm very happy with my idea. We'll see how things go over today in class, but I'm looking forward to getting started with this. I feel like there's so much I can do with it, and now that I have the idea and the format for it in my head, I feel I can't go wrong. Plus the Packers are 4-0, I mean, how much better can it get?

Project #1 - Brainstorm 1
Going into today's discussion, I knew that our first project for this class was coming up. That was about all I knew. So based on what I all gathered from discussions today, I'd say there was an improvement. Not only do I know what the project entails, but I also have an idea for the project already that I discussed with the class. I think it would be fun to take popular songs of the past and present and sync them with images that most people, or at least what I would think of when listening to the specified songs. It would be in a video format burned onto a DVD, something short and sweet. Hopefully all goes well with it, I'm at least happy I have an idea that I can put into action this early.
